Even if the app operates normally, errors may occur when transferring files using iTunes File Sharing in a Windows environment. Please review the following points:
- If the file name contains any of the following characters (¥ \ / : * ? ” < > |), they will be automatically replaced with underscores (_) in Windows.
- If the file name is very long, it may be automatically truncated or the transfer may fail, depending on the situation.
- As a result of character replacement or truncation, multiple files may be treated as having the same name, which can trigger an error such as “A duplicate file name was specified.”
- Windows typically imposes a path length limit of 260 characters, including folder structure and file name. If the save destination is located deep in the directory hierarchy, errors may occur.
If any of the above limitations apply, please consider shortening file names or saving to a shallower folder path.
